On the underside, there should be a slot that you can slide your key in and it pops off. 15 GTI 6-speed CSG. Muffler/res delete. 15% all the way around. Soundaktor delete.
Posts: 13. Never actually removed the handle on my 4Runner, but i have on other cars. Im assuming it’s the same concept. Open the door of the handle you want to remove. There should be a black plug on the edge of the door adjacent to the handle. Remove plug and shine a light to see what screw is in there. The ones i’ve seen are Torx.

Step 1: Remove the door panel screws. Locate all the screws before you start pulling on the door panel. Some screws are out in the open, but others may have a small trim cover on them. Some can be hidden behind the grab handle as well as around the outer edge of the door panel. Step 2: Separate the door panel from the fasteners/clips.
The issue occurs in the area indicated by the above image. All you need is a low-watt soldering iron and a little bit of solder. From there the steps are pretty simple to fix the MK4 door locks: Re-melt the solder joint. Add some solder. The first step should re-establish the connection.
