Nearly all RAM should be installed in pairs. The total value of each module should be within the limits of your motherboard. For example, if you are installing 16 GB of RAM, you'll need to install either two 8 GB modules or four 4 GB modules. If you can get 16GB, it's going to be a good thing going forward, but not likely to be critical. The only way to really tell is to watch the RAM and pagefile usage while you play. Once I opened it I found out the extra slot had a removable 4GB, so that means the soldered RAM is 4gb also. That leaves me with the only option to add to that 4gb, or leave it with identical duals total 8gb. Well I already upgraded it adding 16 GB for total 20GB. The soldered 4gb RAM is at 2400mhz, while the one I added is 16GB 3200mhz.
